The Doucett family started the Food Bank at St. Peter's Anglican Church in South Oshawa about ten years ago for families in the area. Rosemary looks after obtaining the food, transporting and setting up the church basement every Tuesday night. She has volunteers assisting her in distributing the food to clients in need, but she is the main driving force for its success. In her quest for obtaining food she and her daughter Denise (now deceased) were one of the first volunteers at "Feed the Need". Rosemary volunteers at Feed the Need three days a week. A very physical job of sorting and packing orders for other agencies. In addition rosemary and her husband are the primary care givers for Denise's two beautiful teenagers, since her passing in January 2013. The labour of love she has is so heartwarming. With all she does she has very little time for herself. She truly is one of the most dedicated, thoughtful, caring people we have the privilege of knowing. A hero in giving!!
