Marjorie is a tireless volunteer. She volunteers with enthusiasm and has always volunteered in some capacity since before high school, in her church and community. She has been active in numerous community organizations such as the United Achievers' Club - a non-profit organization operating in Brampton since 1980. The Club is involved in many youth related activities and provides scholarlships to graduating high school students accepted in a recognized college or university. She is currently the Immediate Past President (and for 20 years served in various capacities and as its President from 2006 to 2008). At the Kiwanis Club of Brampton she served on the Board of Directors, was elected to the Vice President position for 2012-2013 and currently serves as its President. Marjorie is a 17 year door-to-door canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society and an active member of Christ Church Anglican, Brampton, where she serves on the Alter Guild, is an Eucharistic Lay Assistant and sings on the choir. Marjorie is the recipient of several awards such as Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (October 21, 2012), a finalist for the Zonta Women of Achievement Awards (November 2007), the Kiwanis Club of Brampton Community Service Award (2009), United Achievers' Club - Member of the Year Award (2001, 2002, 2006), Spelling Bee of Canada Certificate of Recognition (2008), Helping Hands Certificate of Recognition (2012) and the Ontario Government 15-year Award recognition for community service.
