At The Royal Canadian Legion, John helped by serving meals for banquets, assissted veterans, visited veterans in nursing homes, volunteered with the Poppy Canvasser and Cross Program, assisted the Manicipality Naming Veterans for street name signs, maintained book of service in the town hall and organized funeral services for veterans.

By volunteering to serve meals helpes the Ladies Auxiliary of Br. 178 to make money to donate to needy people and organizations. Assisting veterans to recieve Pensions & Benefits encahnces a veterans lifestyle. Visiting veterans in nursing homes indicates to them they are not forgotten. As a Poppy Canvasser volunteer brings money to assit needy veterans and to donate to other needy organizations in the community and placing Crosses on veterans graves every November indicates to their families and the public that we remember them. Assisiting the Municipality on their veterans street name program to make sure that the veterans are not forgotten. Maintaining the book of service in the town hall by making sure all those citizens that volunteered to serve their country are not forgotten. Organizing funeral services for veterans shows the families and members of the public that we care.

At the Clarington Older Adult Association, John helped serve meals every Tuesday to senior citizens. He also trimmed trees and bushes in the growing season. He volunteered to serve meals to seniors to help improve their health.
